  • IMST GmbH, Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Straße 2, 47475 Kamp-Lintfort

wir4-Wirtschaftsförderung and Kreis Wesel EntwicklungsAgentur Wirtschaft (EAW) invite you to a practical information event on “NIS-2 regulations for companies” on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 09:30 to 12:00. The event will take place at IMST GmbH, Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Straße 2, 47475 Kamp-Lintfort, Germany.

The requirements of the European Union (EU) within the framework of the Network and Information Security Directive (NIS-2 Directive) are currently causing great uncertainty for many companies. This is because NIS-2 considerably expands the scope of application - numerous medium-sized companies in various sectors will be obliged to implement comprehensive measures to protect their IT systems in future. This affects sectors such as energy, transportation, healthcare, digital services, production, food and many more.

At the event, lawyer Jens Ferner (specialist lawyer for criminal law and IT law) will provide a helpful overview of the planned regulations, risks and options for action under the NIS 2 Directive. His practical and legally sound classification is aimed specifically at decision-makers and IT managers in companies of all sizes and industries.

Prof. Dr. Peter Waldow, Managing Director of IMST GmbH, will also give a first-hand account of the challenges posed by the NIS 2 Directive for his company. In a keynote speech, he will highlight the current status of the debate on the directive and show what considerations and steps are being discussed within the company.

The aim of the event is to inform companies from the region about the upcoming requirements at an early stage and to provide guidance for practical implementation. In addition to the presentations, there will be plenty of time for questions and discussions with experts and other participants.

“With the NIS 2 Directive, many companies are facing new challenges in the area of IT security. We want to help raise awareness at an early stage and show companies how they can prepare appropriately,” says Beate Träm, Managing Director of wir4-Wirtschaftsförderung. Dr. Frederik Graff, Head of EAW.Unternehmensservice, also emphasizes: “Cyber security is no longer a niche topic - it affects companies of all sizes and industries. We are proud to have gained a proven expert on this topic in lawyer Jens Ferner.”

Participation is free of charge, but prior registration is required as places are limited. Registration is now possible via the wir4 business development website or by telephone.
